Indianapolis Fire Department Station 31 - 4155 North College Avenue
Station 31 moved to this new home on March 29, 1995. In December 2008, the 31's became one of the largest stations at IFD when a TSU and the northside EDO were reassigned here. All personnel and apparatus at Station 31 are trained and equippedfor Hazardous Materials response.

Engine 31 was the one of three Ferrara Pumpers that went into service in July 2007. It replaced a Pierce Lance which was reassigned to reserve status.

This former Pierce demo truck matched IFD's specs and was placed into service in January 2009. L-31 became the 3rd of 4 Pierce ladder trucks in the active IFD fleet.

Decon 31 - 1994 Freightliner FL-70/2006-American Fire Rescue - Walk-around Medium Rescue
When Rescue Squad 18 was decomissioned in early 2006, this rig was refurbished and reassigned as Decon 31. All new equipment was ordered. It now responds as part of the Northern Hazmat Team covering from 16th Street North to the Marion/Hamilton County line.

Tactical Support 31 - 2000 International 4400/2004 Horton - walk-in Lighting/Air/Rehab Truck
Originally planned as a Heavy Rescue Demonstration unit, Horton worked with members of Washington Township Station 223 to custom configure this rig for optimum Support capabilities.

In December 2008, this rig was reassigned from Station 6 to the 31's. TSU 31 now responds to all working fires, water rescues and Hazmat incidents throughout Battalion 2's area.

Former Ladder 31 - 1996 Simon-Duplex/LTI 100' Mid-mount tiller ladder (#95 046 05)
Replaced in January of 2009, Ladder 31 previously served as one of two tiller ladders in the IFD fleet (along with L-7). It's manueverability made it a favorite with it's drivers. However, minor accidents and a growing maintenance record ultimately led to it's demise after service for nearly 13 years.
