Indianapolis Fire Department Station 23 - 1108 East Thompson Road at Madison Avenue
On January 1, 2014 this firehouse was renumbered from IFD Station 61 to Station 23 to comply with a new regional radio system. This previously served as Perry Township Headquarters station with the department's maintenance facility next door. Since this picture, this firehouse been reassigned to house Engine 23, Battalion 6 and Safety 6.

This Battalion Chief's district includes the far south and southeast side of Indianapolis from IN-37 to the Shelby county line. Battalion 6 includes Stations 23, 26, 35, 34, 52, 53, 54 including all of Perry Township and most of Franklin Township.
