IFD Station 17 - 7139 East 75th Street
This station was originally built in 1983 and was dedicated to Curt Justus. Curt was Chief of the Castleton VFD during the 1960's and also served as Fire Prevention Chief. This firehouse underwent a massive renovation in 2009-2010. Originally it had two double-deep drive-through bays. However, it was redesigned with much more storage, office and workout space, resulting in 3 east-facing bays. Station 17's first-due area includes Lawrence North High School, Community Hospital North and a large residential area. This station and all of its apparatus were reassigned from Lawrence Township 332 to 17 on January 12, 2010 as part of a county-wide renumbering.
