Delaware County is located in east central Indiana 45 miles north east of Indianapolis. The City of Muncie serves as the county seat and is home to Ball State University and a population of 18,000 students. One career, five combination four all-volunteer fire departments protect the 120,000 residents and 396 square miles of Delaware County.
