Fire Department The City of Columbus is located just east of I-65 between Indianapolis and Louisville. Columbus' 6 Stations and 101 full-time personnel provide Fire, Rescue, Hazmat and BLS protection to 65,500+ residents and 35 square miles in Bartholomew County. |

| Fire Station 2 - 2376 Arnold Street - Columbus Regional Airport This firehouse was completed in March of 2008 at the Airport. The new station allowed for better protection of the expanding east side of the city as well as full time manpower at the airport at needed. This great new building is home to Engine, Squad, Tanker and Crash 2. |

| Squad 2 - 1998 Pierce
Saber walk-around Heavy Rescue Rescue Squad 2 reponds to all extrications and structure fires throughout the city. It also carries specialized equipment for water rescue and hazardous material response. It is the only Pierce apparatus in the department. |

| Tanker
2 - 1998 KME Excel Pumper - 1500gpm Hale pump/1000gal Tanker 2 regularly serves as the primary reserve engine for Columbus. It was purchased on an emergency order from KME as a replacement for an Engine that was in an accident. |
