The City of Charlestown
is located 25 miles north of Louisville, KY along I-65 in eastern Clark County. Organized in 1955, this all-volunteer department includes 60 members. CVFD provides Fire, Rescue and EMS protection to 93 square miles from 4 stations. |

Station 3: IN-62 at 20th Street - Southeast
Completed in 2006, this station sits just outside what used to be the main gate of the Charlestown Ammunition Plant. Station 3 protects the southeastern portion of the Township. |

This unique apparatus includes all-wheel-drive. It previously served at the ammunition plant before it closed, and was considered by the military to be an urban interface pumper. |

Rescue 9370 - 1984 Chevy K30/Reading Light Rescue
This apparatus originally served the US Naval base in Newport, RI. Once purchased, CFR added an enclosed compartment in the middle of the open bed, extrication equipment and a cascade system.

Station 4 - IN-62 at Brooks Road
Completed in 2000, the 4's protects the northeastern area of the Township. It is home to Engine 9420, Tanker 9460 and Brush 9480. |
