The City of Muncie is located 59 miles northeast of Indianapolis along
I-69 in central Delaware County. Muncie's 7 stations provide Fire and Rescue protection to 67,000+ residents and the 19,000 students
of Ball State University.

Station 1 - MFD Headquarters - Corner of Jackson & N. Walnut Streets (Downtown)
Portions of his building have served as Muncie's Station 1 for more than 100 years. Additions and renovations occurred in 1976. Station 1 is currently home to 1 Squad, 1 Rescue, 1 Pump and the Battalion Chief.

Muncie's Rescue 1 responds to extrications and specialty rescues throughout all of Delaware County from Station 1.

This unique truck carries equipment for confined space rescue, swift water rescue and various other specialty rescue tools.

Muncie's fleet includes both 4-man "Squads" and 3-man "Pumps." Muncie 1 and 2 Squad respond to ALS calls along with
Delaware County EMS. They serve as frontline Engines, but also respond for additional manpower to all working fires and
special incidents.

This apparatus serves as the primary reserve engine company for MFD. Shown here at Station 7, it is typically housed at
Station 1 downtown.

Battalion Chief - 1994 Chevy Suburban Incident Command Vehicle
Each shift one Battalion Chief is in charge of Operations throughout the city. In addition, two Captains split command of the
north and south areas of the city and typically respond from Stations 1 and 2.
