Harrison Township is located 35 miles ESE of South Bend between Goshen and Wakarusa in southwest Elkhart County. This rural fire district is mostly farmland and residential including a sizeable Amish and Mennonite Community. This all-volunteer department includes 23 members who respond from two fire stations. HTVFD provides Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to 3,000 residents and 25 square miles.

Rescue 3 is one of 4 apparatus that respond from Harrison Township's northern firehouse. Station 1 is located at County Road 13 at County Road 32 and is home to Rescue 3, Engines 4 & 6 and Tanker 5.
