Greensboro
Volunteer Fire Department

The small town of Greensboro is located 47 miles east of Indianapolis just north of I-70 in west-central Henry County. Organized in 1935, this all-volunteer department includes 15 members who respond to 80 runs each year. GVFD provides Fire, Rescue and Medical First-Responder protection to the 25 square miles of Greensboro and Greensboro Twp.

Station
Greensboro Fire Station - Greenboro Pike & County Road 650
Completed in 2006, this firehouse was built using a Commerce Community Development Block Grant including a 10% match
from the dept. In addition to extensive fundraising by department members, more than $30,000 of in-kind work (site preparation,
water & sewer installation, and the gravel driveway) was all done by Greensboro's Firefighters! The reason GVFD needed
a new firehouse was because the town sold their existing station while they were still in it!
