Madison The City of Madison can be found at the crossroads of US-421 and US-56 along the Ohio River in Jefferson County. Madison includes a unique setup of 6 independently contracted volunteer fire companies. For decades, each fire station and company has had it's own name and specifc color apparatus. Under the command of one Chief, these companies serve as one to provide Fire & Rescue protection to more than 12,500 residents in this historic City. |

The Fair Play Fire Company #1, located in downtown Madison, is the oldest volunteer fire company in the state. It was established on September 15, 1841 |
