Located 29 miles southeast of Chicago along Lake Michigan, Gary is the largest fire department in northwest Indiana. Gary's 14 Stations protect approximately 103,000 residents over nearly
75 square miles.

In the fall of 2008 , Station 10 was severly damaged by floods resulting in the closure of the station. Since, it's closure Engine
10 & Battalion 10 have rotated out of stations 5 & 7 or any station that needs the appartus. With FEMA funds, Station 10
hopes to re-open by the Summer of 2009.
