Hobart Fire Department
Stations 1 & 2

The City of Hobart is located 38 miles southeast of Chicago along US-30 and I-65 in eastern Lake County. Established in 1891, the Hobart Fire Department is now a career department that provides Fire, Rescue and ALS protection to 26,500 residents and 25 square miles. HFD includes 52 career personnel who respond to more than 3,500 runs each year from four stations. HFD also provides some EMS coverage within areas of Lake Station and New Chicago.

Quint 1 has previously served as the Frontline Engine company at Stations 4 and 1. In December 2005 it was reassigned
to Ladder Company status and will continue to respond from HQ Station 1 located at 400 E. 10th Street.

Completed in 1967, the city's oldest firehouse protects the northwest side of the city. A crew of two with at least one
Paramedic responds from this station with either the Engine or Ambulance depending on the call.
