Volunteer Fire Department

The small town of New Chicago is located 39 miles southeast of Chicago along Ridge Road in eastern Lake County. Organized in 1952, the 17 members of this department provide Fire, Rescue & BLS non-transport protection to 2,001 residents in an area of just 1.2 square miles.

E-22 is first out on all fire and MVA calls. It is equipped with a Hurst Combi-Tool, Lift Bags and Cribbing to assist with
vehicle accidents and light extrication.

Tanker 21 - 1989 Chevy Kodiak/KME - 750gpm/1800gal
Tanker 21 was purchased from nearby Lowell in 2007. It is the first tanker in the history of NCVFD.

Rescue 20 - 1994 Dodge Ram 250
First out on all EMS assist calls. R-20 can also be used as a manpower vehicle.
