Coolspring Township
Volunteer Fire Department

Coolspring Township is located on the south side of Michigan City, along I-94 in northern LaPorte county. Established in 1955, the 60 volunteer members responds from 2 stations to more then 700 calls each year. CTVFD provides Fire & Rescue protection to nearly 11,000 residents within the township and the Town of Trail Creek. ALS transport is provided county-wide by LaPorte County EMS.

Station 1

Coolspring Township Fire Station 1 - 7111 West 400 North (northeast side) - Michigan City
Opened in 1991, Station 1 serves as department headquarters and is home to Engine 347, Quint 393, Tanker 355,
Rescue 361, Brush 372, Utility 384, and Tanker 359. Coolspring Township is a mostly residential suburban area with some light commercial and industrial properties. Coolspring also protects busy portions of I-94, US 421, US 20, and US 35.

Engine 347 is first out for all small fires, service calls, and car accidents. It carries all of the departments rescue equipment including extrication, airbags, air hammer, and other rescue tools.

Opened 1961, Station 2 is located in the south central portion of the Township. It is home to Engine 348 and Brush 376
