Volunteer Fire Deparment

The Town of Oolitic is located 71 miles SSW of Indianapolis along IN-37 in north-central Lawrence County. Formed in 1972, this volunteer department includes 30 members who provide Fire, Rescue and BLS protection to nearly 100 square miles and two Townships.

Oolitic Fire Station - 5 Hoosier Avenue at Railroad Street
Completed in 2004, this firehouse is home to all five of OVFD's frontline apparatus.
