Volunter Fire Department

The Town of Rockville is located 75 miles west of Indianapolis along US-36 in central Parke County. Established in 1908 the department now includes 19 members with one on duty 24/7. The department responds to 150 runs each year to provide Fire and Rescue protection to 80 square miles including the Town of Rockville and all of Adams Township.

Completed in 2000, this firehouse is home to all 6 Township and Town's apparatus.

Engine 421 responds as first-due for all incidents except for brush fires.

 
Tanker 422 ds
Tanker 422 - 1997 Ford LN/Pierce - 750gpm/1500gal
T-422 is the second-due apparatus for all rural fires.
 
Engine 423 ds
Engine 423 - 2001 International/Pierce Pumper - 1000gpm/1000gal
E-423 is second-due for brush fires and third-out for all other calls.
 
Engine 424 ds
Engine 424 - 1993 Ford L/Pierce Pumper - 1000gpm/1000gal
Engine 424 is 2nd-out within the city limits and fourth-due for rural fires.

Rescue 1 ds
Rescue 1 - 1985 Ford E350/Collins
This rig was purchased by the Town in 1995 and converted to full-rescue use. It has since been acquired by Adams Township,
as are most of the apparatus for this department. A new Dodge/S&S Rescue is scheduled to replace this rig in late 2008.
