Harris Township Fire Department

Harris Township is located just Northwest of South Bend in St. Joseph County along the Michigan Border. Harris Township is a combination department that responds from two stations. Harris Township provides provides ALS, Fire and Rescue protection to
the Town of Granger and most of Harris Township, including 20,000+ residents and approximately 22 square miles. Harris Township responds from two stations which are are staffed 24-hours a day,
365 days a year.

Engine 441 - 2002 Pierce Dash Rescue Pumper - 1500gpm/1000gal with Compressed Air Foam
Station 1 is located on the corner of Anderson and Bittersweet in Granger
Station 2 is located on State Road 23 and Elm in Granger

Engine 441 is generally the first due apparatus from Station 1. It is equipped with a light tower on top of it's cab for
nightime incidents. This truck also carries EMS and light extrication equipment.

Engine 442 - 1987 Pierce Arrow Pumper - 1250gpm/1000gal
Engine 442 serves as the second-due and reserve pumper at Station 1.

Tanker 454 - 1999 HME/Alexis Pumper/Tanker - 1250gpm/1500gal

Tanker 451 - 2003 Freightliner/S&S 1800gallon

Tanker 452 - 1980 Ford T8000/3-D 3000 gallon

Rescue 461 - 1991 International/JB - Walk-in Heavy Rescue
Heavy Rescue 461 carries technical rescue equipment for vehicle extrication, high and low angle rope rescue,
water and ice rescue and confined space rescue.

Squad 471 - Ford F-350 Light Rescue

Rescue Ambulance 441 - Ford E-450/Marque Type III
Harris Township runs identical ALS ambulances from each of it's two stations in Granger.
