Otter Creek Township
Volunteer Fire Department

Station 1: North Terre Haute

North Terre Haute is located 75 miles west of Indianapolis along US-41 in central Vigo County. Originally, this small town had it's own fire department. However, in 2009, three local departments were joined together as Otter Creek Fire Department for more efficient protection of the township's residents. First organized in 1947, the North Terre Haute fire company includes 18 volunteer members. Together the three OCVFD stations provide Fire, Rescue and First Responder Medical protection to nearly 10,000 residents and 36 square miles.
