Engine 7 is equipped with extrication tools and responds first-due for accidents and rescue calls and second-due for structure
fires. After Hurricane Ike made landfall in 2008, the storm gained strength again as it spun through the Ohio Valley. The
continuing storm reached Hurricane force again and created large amounts of damage throughout southern Indiana. While
responding to a run, this truck's predecessor (Engine 4 below) was struck by a huge fallen tree limb that crushed the truck from
end-to-end. Thankfully, the firefighters inside were not seriously injured. Engine 7 was purchased as a replacement for this rig
from the Woodlyn Fire Company in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

Due to scheduled training, we were unable to take updated photos of all of Salem's apparatus, but look forward to updating
these photos with the rest of their fleet later in 2009.

Special thanks to Assistant Chief Ron Wilcox for his assistance in arranging the apparatus
for these pictures and for providing department background and history.
