Fire Department The City of Richmond is located 73 miles east of Indianapolis along I-70 at the Ohio border. Established in 1872, this career department includes 81 personnel responding from 6 fire stations. RFD provides Fire, Tactical Rescue, Hazmat and ALS Protection to 37,000 residents and 62 square miles including Richmond and surrounding areas of Wayne County. |

| Former Battalion 21- 2001 Chevy Tahoe - EMS Quick Response This former Chief's vehicle is now used for EMS runs at Station 3. The crew still responds as "Engine 3" but uses this vehicle for all in-district EMS calls to relieve wear and tear on their engine. |
